My name is Bruno and I’m going to write about my experience at Nicki’s concert in Bratislava. I stan Nicki for years, when I’ve heard that she’s going to perform in Slovakia I was full of joy and enthusiasm I couldn’t believe it!!! I live in a small town which is 190km (118mi) far away from Bratislava. I was counting months, days, hours and finally I woke up on 22nd of February. Me and my friend Samuel went to Bratislava by train, we had a lil trip and after lunch we came to the Stadium of Ondreja Nepelu at 4pm. I thought there will already be hundreds of fans waiting in front of the arena, but actually there was only bunch of people. I was literally crying, I couldn’t believe I’m going to see Nicki so close from the front row. The gates were supposed to be opened at 6:30pm but the organization wrote a post that the gates will be opened at 8pm and the concert will start at 9pm without the ACT.
We were waiting outside and it was very cold, I was shaking and I couldn’t feel my body. I made a lot of new friends, we had a lot of things to talk about… well you know, the barbz. At 8pm the security called us upstairs we were running fast af, I think that was my new record! But we had to wait another 30 minutes infront of the ticket check. After the ticket checking we were waiting another half an hour infront of the doors to the hall. It was crazy because some people pushed through the crowd and ended up more in the front than me, who’s there since 4pm…
The security opened the doors and the crowd was so crazy, that they pushed me to the wall, fortunately the security helped me to get out. After this drama we got into the hall but they still didn’t let us stay in our “floor” zone, we were waiting behind gates and watching how they were building the stage, yes you’re reading right!
The show was supposed to begin at 9pm it was 10pm and the stage still wasn’t done! Then I realized we didn’t go through any security check, actually anyone could bring any weapons with them and attack any other person around him or even Nicki. At 10:30 they let us into our zone, I had tickets for standing and I was very close to the stage, so I was extremely excited to see Nicki!
A Slovak organizer came on the stage and said that Nicki will perform and that she’s in the building, these words really satisfied me so I had a huge motivation for waiting. We were still waiting and waiting and nothing was happening, suddenly at midnight I saw some people looking from under that big sheet that was supposed to fall down just before the show. I couldn’t believe my eyes I saw Nicki on stage! She looked like a god! She started speaking with words that were really sad, she said that she can’t perform because the building doesn’t have enough power for her show. She had a fan with her on stage and he was translating her words to Slovak, all I could here from the crowd were negative words and people’s anger.
While Nicki was showing love to us the man from the Slovak production came up and said that she can’t perform because her team didn’t make the technical demands as they were agreed. This situation was horrible cause Nicki didn’t understand him and she thought he was saying what she said. She came so close to me I couldn’t even believe, she recorded us and then jumped of the stage to speak with us. I was so mad and desperate because I couldn’t get to her, there was a bunch of people infront of me and I couldn’t come it closer to her. When she came through the fans she waved us and disappeared, I was heartbroken, everyone was just cursing on her, when I came out of the arena I saw people demolishing everything around, they were angry cause they believed the Slovak promoter’s version.
I just went home and although my dream wasn’t fulfilled as I imagined, I saw Nicki, I saw my queen and she was the most beautiful, powerful and successful person I’ve ever seen! I don’t believe that the power was the only problem not letting Nicki to perform, I think the main reason was the stage it was built very late and quickly, it wasn’t safe to let her and her team to perform. It wasn’t safe for us either, anything could actually fall on us. She said that she’ll come back, well the Slovak media and the promoting and organizating agency were writing and talking so much hate and lies on her, that Slovakia doesn’t deserve her back. She should come back to Vienna or Prague.
I hope that I’ll see her perform once and that she’ll have a god blessed and amazing tour in the rest of the countries in the world! 🙏
