Nicki Minaj had a few things to get off her chest during today’s Queen Radio, exclusively on Apple/Beats 1. Nicki finally addressed the incident that happened a few days ago during the Harper’s Bazaar New York Fashion Week Icon Party, where Bronx entertainer Cardi B violently charged the iconic rapper.
Nicki Minaj said the Fashion Week incident was “mortifying and so humiliating.”
“The way they (Party goers) passed by looking at this disgusting commotion, I will never forget that.” Nicki went on to say, “The other night I was part of something so mortifying and so humiliating to go through in front of a bunch upper echelon… people who have their life together.”
Nicki used her platform, which had over 10 million listeners tuning in during the first hour, to highlight the lies and hypocrisy of fellow Bronx rapper, Cardi B. Nicki played a snippet of Cardi in which she stated that she had no problem going after children. “Nothing is off-limits. I hate when some people come at me like, ‘Why you coming at kids for?’ I’m my mother’s baby,” says Cardi.
If you remember, Cardi B and her publicist posted a statement after the altercation, accusing Nicki Minaj of talking negatively about her child, Kulture. One must ask, is it okay for Cardi to allegedly spew hateful, racially tinged rhetoric about black women and their dead children? And then have the audacity to incite violence against a fellow rapper over unsubstantiated rumors peddled by her fanbase about Nicki liking a comment about her parenting skills?
“I would never talk about anyone’s child or parenting. I don’t care about anyone’s parenting. It’s so crazy to me that people always need to make Onika the bad guy. I am not a clown,” Minaj declared. “That’s clown shit. Telling the world that someone said something so you don’t look dumb is clown shit. You knew when that footage came out you were about to look fucking dumb. I just want people to know that Onika Tanya Maraj has never, will never… speak ill on anyone’s child.”
Nicki also interviewed a woman named Clarissa, who Cardi viciously went after in 2014, and ridiculed her and her dead child…
“In 2014 she had posted an Instagram video, before she got on Love & Hip-Hop, and she made a video talking about her teeth. She said she wouldn’t get them done. I commented telling her to get them done. She came to my profile and must’ve read my bio and came back at me saying, ‘That’s why you shouldn’t have been on drugs maybe your kid would be alive.’ She called him a monkey,” Clarissa explained.
Episode 8 of Queen Radio will be rebroadcast tomorrow on Apple Music Beats 1. Here’s a snippet of Nicki’s show.
